Because it is so critical that manufacturers and distributors stay current with the ever-changing processes that occur in manufacturing, we at Flexovit have long believed in working WITH our distributor partners to keep each other informed. There are many ways in which we go about this, but one of the most effective is our Distributor Training Program.
Unlike most manufacturers’ factory trainings, the Flexovit Distributor Training Program is tailored to the specific group of attendees. We offer a productive blend of classroom and hands-on training, with the content of both varying based on the make-up of the class.
Here is how it works:
From the time you arrive into western New York until the time you depart, all of your costs are covered by Flexovit. This includes ground transportation, hotel, and meals.
The typical Flexovit Distributor Training Program is two full days, but can be modified, depending on the wants and needs of the attendees. Your local Flexovit representative will gather your request(s) for training topics in advance of the program. That information is then communicated to our Corporate Trainer, who in turn structures the coming program to accommodate any specific requests you might have.
The elements of the Flexovit Distributor Training Program have included topics such as:
- Abrasives Overview – You will learn about the components of a bonded abrasive wheel and the function of bonds, resins, and abrasive grains. Other forms of abrasives covered include: coated abrasives, surface conditioning products, and superabrasives.
- Safety – From the care and use of the tools being used to the proper mounting and use of the abrasive products, you will get a comprehensive overview of safety requirements and recommendations.
- Handling and Storage – Best practices are covered to ensure optimal product performance in a safe work environment
- Hands-On Use – Increase your level of comfort in running abrasive products on power tools, under the supervision of our Corporate Trainer. You will see the performance differences between Flexovit products and competitive products, and you will learn how we demonstrate those differences in a meaningful way to customers, using our Productivity And Cost Evaluation (PACE) program.
A highlight of the Flexovit Distributor Training Program is a tour of our factory. You will see our state-of-the-art, automated manufacturing process by observing ALL phases of production. You will see how the raw materials are mixed, how the bonded abrasive wheels are pressed and baked, and how the products are quality tested. Seeing this process first-hand will help you to become more valuable to your customers.
Flexovit is committed to the education process. That statement alone may create an image of us (the manufacturer/supplier) as the teacher and you (the distributor partner) as the student. We want to accomplish more than that, and our vision of the education process involves two-way communication. We have believed in that for over 35 years, we stress that today, and we know that continued practice will help us both tomorrow. Knowing what is important to you and your customers is critical to our mutual success. We ensure that Flexovit sales representatives are on hand to address specific territory or market segment specific questions that you may have during the program. We listen to what you have to say, and the Flexovit Distributor Training Program has been a great setting for this exchange of information.
A visit to the beautiful Niagara frontier in western New York State offers our guests a tour of Niagara Falls, a chance to enjoy the real Buffalo wings, and an opportunity to engage in a meaningful education program designed to help YOU provide even more value to YOUR customers.
The Flexovit Distributor Training Program is offered four times per year. The remaining session in 2012 is set for the week of November 12. The program dates for 2013 are:
